Tonya Shropshire, in her fourth year as assistant softball coach, came to
Southwest with an extensive background. Shropshire spent four
years (1999-2002) at Rhodes College as head softball coach after
spending a year as assistant coach. While at Rhodes, she guided
the Lynx to a 60-55 record, including a school-record 23 wins in 1999
and a 19-9 record and conference runnerup in 2001. Previously,
Shropshire acted as a graduate assistant at the University of North
Alabama, where she began working on her master's degree in 1996.
She is a graduate of Evangelical Christian School, where she lettered
in softball, volleyball, soccer, and basketball. Shropshire played collegiate
softball at the University of Tennessee at Martin, and graduated in
1991 with a Bachelor of Science in Sociology and Psychology. In
1992, she worked for a year as an undergraduate assistant at her alma
mater. |
