“Coming off a good freshman season, we expect Chris to make a
large jump in what he does this year because of experience and
off-season work.”
2005-06: In 31 games as a freshman, Evans averaged 7.5 points
per game and ranked second on the team with a 5.6 rebounding average
and 17 blocked shots. In the Saluqis’ Region VII Tournament
quarterfinal win over Roane State, Evans had season-highs of 17
points, 16 rebounds, and 3 blocked shots.
High School: Evans averaged 22 points and 14.5 rebounds as a
senior at Paul Lawrence Dunbar High School in Fort Worth, Texas.
Evans was selected as one of the top players in the state by
TexasHoops.com. He was coached in high school by Robert Hughes, who
has won a record 1,333 games in his coaching career. Evans played on
Dunbar’s 2003 state championship team as a sophomore.
