“Ervin was one of the city’s top scorers and rebounders in high
school and before he leaves us he will put up large numbers like
that because he is very, very talented.”
High School: Herron played for Coach Timothy Vandouser at
Lighthouse Christian Academy in Millington, Tennessee. As a senior,
Herron averaged 25.4 points, 12 rebounds, and six assists per game
after averaging 32.8 points per game as a junior. A two-time member
of The Commercial Appeal’s Best of the Preps All-Metro team, Herron
scored over 40 points five times in his career including 50 points
against Macon Road his junior season. In 2004-05 he was runner-up to
the The Millington Star’s Player of the Year.
Personal: Born February 10, 1988, in Memphis, Herron is the
son of Paula and Ervin Herron.
