“A.J is a high flyer with quickness, toughness and a fine array
of scoring tools. He has worked very hard in the off season to
improve his game. After playing on an outstanding high school team
and starring on last season’s 8th-place national tournament team,
A.J. has a winning history.”
2006-07: Nance averaged 11.1 points per game as a freshman
and led the Saluqis with a .791 free throw percentage. He was named
to the TJCCAA’s All-Western Division team and was also selected to
the Region VII All-Tournament Team. Nance scored a season-high of 29
points against Cleveland State on 11 of 15 shooting and recorded a
double-double with 19 points and 12 rebounds versus Saint Catharine.
High School: Nance played for Coach Irving Clay at Marion
High School in Marion, Arkansas where he helped lead the Patriots to
a 26-4 record and the final four of the state playoffs his senior
year. Nance averaged 20.4 points, 10.2 rebounds, 2.5 steals and shot
93 percent from the free throw line. He was a two-time
all-conference and Class AAAA All-State selection.
