Quincy Harris

Native Memphian Quincy Harris, 36,  is in his first year as assistant coach at Southwest. A graduate of Germantown High School, he played basketball four years for the Red Devils and earned an academic scholarship to the University Tennessee at Knoxville. While at UT Knoxville, Harris was a part of the legendary Pat Summitt’s elite practice squad preparing the Lady Volunteer’s for competition.  At the University, he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and a Master’s degree in Sport Psychology.

After graduation, Harris stayed in Knoxville to coach and teach in the Knox County school system, coaching at South Doyle Middle and High Schools. He also played 2 years of professional basketball for the local American Basketball Association (ABA) teams the Tri-City Racers and the Smokey Mountain Jam. For the past five years, Harris has been coaching with local middle and high schools in the area, including two years with Houston Middle School and most recently three years with Germantown High School helping the team win a Shelby County Championship.
