“Malik is a returning sophomore who we feel needs to have a great year. He is able to score at different positions on the floor and to three-point range. Malik is also a hard-nosed defender with a great motor.”
2017-18: Anderson played in all 29 games (4 starts) as a freshman, averaging 7.3 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game. He led the Saluqis with a .448 three-point field goal percentage and was among the team leaders with a .766 free throw percentage. Anderson scored in double figures nine times, including a high game of 18 points against Dyersburg State. He also had highs of six rebounds (vs. Volunteer State), three assists (Bethel JV, Blue Mountain JV, Motlow State and Jackson State), and three steals (vs. Bethel JV and Blue Mountain JV).
High School: Anderson played at Nettleton High School in Jonesboro, Arkansas, where he averaged 15 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists per game his senior season. He shot 40 percent from three and 84 percent from the free throw line. Anderson was named to the Arkansas Class 5A All-State and All-State Tournament teams.
Personal: Born December 17, 1998 in Jonesboro, Arkansas, he is the son of LaKenya and Wesley Anderson Sr.
