SCHEDULE
The 2004 Lady Saluqis non-conference schedule
features home games against Southeastern Illinois,
Itawamba (MS), Coahoma (MS), Northwest
Mississippi,
St. Charles (MO), Northwest-Shoals (AL), and Rhodes
College.
Southwest also has road trips to Booneville, MS
(Northeast Mississippi),
Walnut Ridge, AR (Williams
Baptist), Fulton, MS (Itawamba), Clarksdale, MS
(Coahoma), and Muscle Shoals, AL (Northwest-Shoals).
"We have a very
challenging non-conference schedule
this spring which should prepare us very
well for the
TJCCAA ," said Gentry. The Lady Saluqis will play four
games
each (two home and two away) against each of
the Western Division members -
Columbia State,
Dyersburg State, Jackson State, and Volunteer State.
The top
four teams in the West and East Divisions qualify
for the TJCCAA/Region VII
Tournament. "Vol State should
be the favorite in the West Division coming
into this season
after winning the West last year," said Gentry. "The West
Division should be very competitive. We’ll have to be ready
to play every
day. With a lot of hard work, we’ll have a
chance to be one of the four
teams representing the West
in the region tournament in May."
