Bright has been voted a Team Captain for the 2005 Season
2004 Fall Season: Bright was second on the team with a .350
batting average and led the team with 21 hits and 13 runs batted in.
She was also among the team leaders in doubles (3), total bases (26),
slugging average (.433), and on-base average (.385). In addition,
Bright threw out nine base-runners attempting to steal.
2004 Spring Season: Bright was named first team All-TJCCAA and
All-West Division as a freshman. She led the Lady Saluqis in almost
every offensive category, including batting average (.361), slugging average
(.462), on-base average (.429), at-bats (119), hits (43), doubles (10), RBI
(31), and total bases (55).
2003
Fall Season:
Bright started at catcher and third base for the Lady Saluqis during the
fall. She batted was second on the team with a .366 batting
average, led the team in runs batted in, and was second in total bases,
slugging average (.415), and on-base average (.458).
High School: Bright played four years
for coach Tom Isaac at Bartlett High School. As a senior, Bright
was selected to The Commercial Appeal's Best of the Preps Team and is also a
two-time All-District 14AAA selection. One of the team's top
hitters throughout her high school career, Bright was named the Lady
Panthers' Offensive Player of the Year in both her junior and senior
seasons. As a senior, she batted .354 and led the team with a 1.000
fielding average. Her junior year, Bright batted .351 and led Bartlett
to a 21-14 record, the District 14AAA runnerup, Region 7AAA championship,
and a fifth-place finish in the Class AAA state tournament.
Personal: Born June 15, 1985, in Memphis,
Bright is the daughter of Debbie and Wayne Bright.
