STACI CRAIG

2007: 
As a freshman, Craig led the Lady Saluqis with 10 pitching victories, a 2.92 earned run average, and 119 strikeouts.  She ranked sixth in the TJCCAA in strikeouts per seven innings and fanned a season-high 10 batters in five innings against Crowley’s Ridge.  Craig was also one of the team’s top hitters with a .382 average and 31 runs batted in.  She was second on the team with 10 multiple-hit games including five hits against Crowley’s Ridge.  Craig compiled a 3.903 grade point average her freshman year, which was the highest of any Southwest student-athlete.  For her efforts in the classroom, Craig received the TJCCAA’s Academic Achievement Award. 

High School: 
Craig played for Coach Robin Jacobs at Brighton High School and led the Lady Cardinals to a 31-8 record and the Region 7-AAA championship as a senior.  Craig compiled a 15-5 pitching record in 2006 with a 1.39 earned run average and 142 strikeouts in 131 innings.  Her senior year, Craig was named first team All-District 13AAA, All-District 13AAA tournament, received the Best of the West Female Scholar Athlete award, and was selected the Millington Star’s Athlete of the Week.  As a junior, Craig was named All-District 14AA, All-District 14AA tournament, and The Commercial Appeal Best of the Preps team. Craig posted a 14-1 pitching record with a 1.41 ERA and led Brighton to a 27-14 record, the Region 7AA championship and a berth in the Class AA state tournament.

Personal:  Born May 30, 1988, in Memphis, Craig is the daughter of Steve and Tammy Craig.
