High School: Booker T. Washington
“Tiesha is a solid point guard who can hit the open jumper. She has
quickness in the open court and can finish on the drive. Tiesha is also a
tenacious defender who can inspire the team.”
High School: Hughes played her senior season at Booker T. Washington
High School in Memphis for Coach Derek Hunter after transferring from Los
Angeles. She averaged 10.5 points, 2.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists and led the
team with 56 three-point field goals and a .707 free throw percentage.
Hughes helped lead BTW to the district and region championships and a berth
in the Class AA state tournament. Hughes was named all-district and to The
Commercial Appeal’s Best of the Preps All-Metro Team.
Personal: Born May 12, 1988, in Cleveland, Mississippi, Hughes is the
daughter of Dorothy and Eugene Jones. |
