Candace Rucker
Position: Guard
Height: 5’9”

Hometown: Memphis, TN
High School: Northside
College: University of Colorado
“Candace is a Division I transfer who brings experience to the guard
position. She is a strong and physical player and will see playing time at
all spots.”
2006-07: Rucker played in 30 games as a freshman at the University of
Colorado, averaging 3.5 points and 2.2 rebounds per game.
High School: Rucker played for Coach Donald Holmes at Northside High
School in Memphis. She averaged 19.9 points and six rebounds per game her
senior season and earned District MVP and Class AAA All-State honors. Rucker
led Northside to a 33-3 record, the District 16AAA championship, and a berth
in the 2006 Class AAA state tournament. She was one of five finalists for
The Commercial Appeal’s Best of the Preps Player of the Year and was twice
selected to the All-Metro Team. As a junior, Rucker averaged 22 points, 11
rebounds and six assists and was named all-district, all-region, and
all-state. She led Northside to a 28-5 record in 2004-05, advancing to the
Class AAA state tournament. Prior to her senior season, Rucker was ranked as
the 36th best guard in the country by the All-Star Girls Report and the
number one prep senior in Memphis by memphishoopers.com. In 2005, she
attended the Adidas Top Ten All-American camp.
Personal: Born April 18, 1988, in Memphis, Rucker is the daughter of
Nathaniel and Veronica Rucker.
